Earlier this month, the team at Adelaide salon Kinky Curly Straight hosted a World’s Greatest Shave evening to support the fundraising efforts of Rosanna, one of their clients. For Rosanna, who shaved her hair on the night, The World’s Greatest Shave is a cause that’s close to her heart. “My grandfather died at 42 from cancer and I have seen how it affected my mother and her family,” she said. Together with a friend who opted to colour her hair, she raised money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

It was an emotional scene as the mum of one of Kinky Curly Straight’s team members, who is currently battling cancer, made the first cut into Rosanna’s hair, surrounded by family and friends of the salon, some of whom had lost loved ones to cancer.

Rose Senesi from the Leukaemia Foundation also attended the event, and spoke to guests about the work of the foundation, including research, transport for patients, and a new purpose built accommodation complex for patients and their families from around South Australia.

Thanks to donations from KEVIN.MURPHY and OzDare, Kinky Curly Stright was able to put together a great raffle, which ended up raising $200, which will go towards Rosanna’s fundraising for the Leukaemia Foundation.
