Joshua Galvin, an instrumental part of the Alternative Hair Show journey since its inception in September 1983, has passed away and will be greatly missed by all throughout the industry.
“He touched all age groups, especially the young with his inspiration” AHS Founder Tony Rizzo explains. “Whenever you met Joshua in whatever situation you always knew you were in company of a very special man. He was funny, charismatic and I was very fortunate to be able to call him my friend.” Rizzo continues.
Joshua Galvin’s career spans a lifetime of achievement becoming one of Vidal Sassoon’s top London stylists in the swinging 60s, and was the personal hairdresser of Judy Garland and Julie Andrews during a stint in New York. Present day Joshua Galvin has five training academies in London and Essex, and also sat on the council of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
An inspiring hairdresser, whose passion for the craft was visible in every part of his career Joshua Galvin’s support to the Alternative Hair Show was relentless year upon year.
“We have fond memories of Joshua’s achievements spanning 29 years of dedication to Alternative Hair since its inceptions,” says Rizzo. “Relentlessly his support every year assisted change for children and helped the organisation to raise over £8 Million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.”
Our condolences to Joshua’s family and all that were close to him, he will be greatly missed.
