Titled “Transgression”, Ben Pollit’s eighthcollection showcased the young designer’s love affair with brooding colours and neo-goth elements.
Luxurious silks were interspersed with washed and treated leathers at the show which kick started the 2009 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. With David Lynch sited as a reference, saturated colours of green, yellow, orange, blue and red evoked the big screen.
In his third season collaborating with the label, ghd Directive Jon Pulitano led the hair direction for the show with a look of futuristic luxury meets android beauty.
“The look is very dark and moody – it progresses from a sexy, futuristic look working with a luxurious smooth texture that’s beautiful and flowing. Slowly models morph into androids or alien-like beauties, where a mixture of the ghd shining serum and obedience cream is added to the hair to create a wet texture. The hair changes quite significantly from the beginning to the end,” said Pulitano.
