A neutral palette, clean tailoring, luxurious fabrics, feminine silhouettes and plenty of skin flourished at Camilla and Marc’s Rosemount Australian Fashion Week show.
Set against a trompe-l’oeil backdrop, Camilla and Marc’s Summer 09/10 Collection showcased silks, satins, the softest leathers, Grecian draping and metallic accents all in delicately feminine silhouettes.
Beach references abounded as models sashayed down the runway to the sugary sounds of The Beach Boys “Gold Only Knows” remixed. The languid summer tone continued with flesh tones, blush and white appearing in voluminous trench coats, sharp blazers and full pants.
Pale denim, heavy chain belts, layering, hardware, pleats and ribbon embroidery all appeared alongside strong shoulders in a nod to Balmain. A group of seven models walked in unison in black body-con dresses in a dramatic end to a collection.
Clive Allwright, International Artistic Director of KMS California, created the loosely undone and elegantly cool hair looks. Natural, beachy and a little bohemian, they matched the collection’s fresh palette perfectly.
KMS California HairPlay Sea Salt Spray, HairPlay Dry Wax, HairPlay Clay Crème and HairStay Medium Hold Spray were all used to create extra volume and full tendrily locks with a matte finish.
Makeup was neutral and natural with a strong feline flick of winged kohl that added a glamorously understated finish. Every fashionista’s favourite OPI provided the nude lacquer, Samoan Sand, to polish the look.
