Kevin Murphy at MSFW
Complimenting the ready-to-wear street fashion, MSFW Hair Director Kevin Murphy and his team of KEVIN.MURPHY stylists created textured 1970’s inspired hairstyles reminiscent of Bianca Jagger and Sonia Rykiel’s signature looks.
“I modernised the classic 1970’s stacked curls by sectioning a straight square from the roots, creating a tight curl mid-length using a Geisha pin U-set and finally separating the curls for dramatic volume,” said Murphy. “The extreme contrast was the key to success for this hairstyle as the poker straight roots amplify the voluminous curls, resulting in a striking hairstyle that garners attention.”
To achieve this look, Kevin Murphy prepared the hair with his new texturising product HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY, wrapped the hair in a figure eight around a Geisha pin, heated with a blow dryer, separated and finished with SESSION.SPRAY for hold.
To ensure Melbournians are runway-ready for MSFW fashion parades and events, the KEVIN.MURPHY STYLE.BAR in City Square is also offering free expert hair styling tips and touch ups for style-savvy MSFW-goers throughout the week.
