Adding to the list of O&Ms exclusive hair sponsorships over Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, New York was the Wes Gordon Fall/Winter 2013 Presentation – an all class affair marked by elaborate embellishment and texture to stir desire.

“For my latest collection, the inspiration started with the idea of a modern Odalisque living in a modern harem,” described Wes Gordon.

“That vision inspired the fabrics and textures for the clothing. There are explosions of colour, incredible brocades and embroideries.”

The vibe was rock rebel meets twisted-fair-lady – rich turquoise fabric embellished with teal lace and adorned with a lavender fur throw as an example. The vibe was wayward wealth and O&M Creative Director; Janelle Chaplin met the brief with divine aplomb – as always.

“We wanted the beauty theme to emulate a Park Avenue meets London after-hours party,” said Janelle.

“We had a lot of fun coming up with the final look and really enjoyed working with Wes Gordon and his team. He is a true artist with a unique vision for fabrics and shapes.”

Despite taking shape of the forever-prevalent pony, it was simplicity with a slashing of Janelle’s mysterious-dark appeal – contemporary-cool that continued the O&M story throughout prestigious international press.
