Nestled in the picturesque town of Ocean Grove in Victoria, Bohiti Salon is a relaxing oasis away from the hustle bustle of everyday life, offering clients calmness, professionalism and serenity.

The secret’s in the name: The American Indian word ‘Bohiti’ refers to a person who has knowledge of both the plant and the spirit world, and it perfectly reflects the salon’s ethos – both in terms of knowledge, craft and dedication to preserving the environment.

From the very first day it opened, the salon attracted clients, in part, thanks to its use of CHI’s Ionic Ammonia-Free Colour System supplied by ECO Hair Products.

Within only two years of operation, the salon space, which comprised seven stations and only two basins, had to be expanded due to client demand.
Extensive renovations were carried out, and the interior was redecorated to reflect the high calibre of clientele.

Now, Bohiti offers the same level of serenity and service, but boasts twenty one work stations, six basins, nine staff and a spacious, welcoming atmosphere.

“It has been an amazing journey for us, and we feel privileged to have been able to make it with ECO Hair Products by our side,” said Bohiti owners Num Stephens and Danielle Howland-Stevens,

“We are excited by how quickly we have grown and know that without the product and point of difference ECO Hair Products provide us with, we would not be where we are today.”

And it’s not simply the CHI Ammonia-free colour that ECO Hair Products supply that makes Bohiti such a desirable destination – ECO Hair Products has also provided the salon with a dedicated program of educational support ensuring Bohiti stylists have the skills and knowledge to offer their clients a premium salon experience.

ECO Hair Products has provided Bohiti staff with extensive colour training, while the technical support line ensures any tricky questions are only a phone call away.

Other programs undertaken by the Bohiti team have included retail training with ECO Hair Products consultant Nick Andriotakis both in salon and at the ECO training centre in Toorak and a staff development training program with ECO Business Consultant Phillip Fernandez, ensuring all systems in salon, from staff to service, run smoothly.

Furthermore, Bohiti staff have been given the valuable opportunity to spend time with ECO’s Artistic Director and multiple-award winner Tracy Nguyen, who has ensured stylists are kept up to date with the latest trends and techniques.

The release of CHI’s organic range certainly helped boost business too – and since stocking the new line, retail sales have increased dramatically.

“I love the fact that I can tell my clients that the products are 100 per cent certified organic, sulphate and paraben free,” said Danielle. “All of this combined allows us to offer our clients something they cannot get elsewhere and is the essence of our success.”

Speaking of success, the husband and wife duo, Danielle and Num, were both named as finalists for the CHI Woman competition – an achievement for which they were rewarded at the glittering awards ceremony on July 26, which celebrated some of ECO Hair Products’ most accomplished stylists.
