Oracle is the culmination of six years of research and development at the ghd R&D facility in Cambridge, UK. Oracle is the result of 675,000 hours of testing, 9 prototypes and 19 scientists dedicated to the tool’s success.

ghd Oracle simplifies the art of curling with its patented Curl-zone technology. The oracle has a “U” shaped barrel made of four ceramic plates that delivers an ideal curl no matter what section of hair is passing through the tool. Hair is heated to the optimum styling temperature of 1850C, also known as the ‘glass transition’ phase where the hair bonds become flexible and can be shaped into style. The curls are formed by the uniquely shaped barrel while the ceramic plates serve to smooth the surface of the hair and eliminates frizz. Here, a tilt of the hand empowers you to create endless curl possibilities for any hair texture or types.
The process ends when hair exits the plates over the curl-zone, and the plates are actively cooled to quickly remove heat from the hair, setting the curl shape in place. The curl zone maintains a lower temperature of 650C to flash-cool hair. This also means curls are cooler to touch than when curled with traditional curling tools. ghd Oracle also has a cool product casing so as not to burn clients if it touches the scalp, ears or neck. The heat removed from the hair is transferred from the curl-zone to the end of the product via miniature heat-pipes and warm air is pushed out of the rear of the unit and more cool air is drawn in. In this way, the tool intelligently uses heat to revolutionise the curling experience.
