The heart of Paris is home to many beautiful things including the intimate salon of renowned hair stylist Madeleine Cofano. 2008 saw the doors open to her ultra elegant 200 square metre Aveda salon, located in the centre of the French capital.
Madeleine Cofano’s Parisian salon
Born in Italy, Cofano grew up in Paris and after completing an apprenticeship at the iconic Jacques Dessange salon, she entered the world of of fashion, theatre and cinema, working with some of the world’s leading photographers including Buy Bourdin, Helmut Newton, Gilles Bensimon and Paolo Roversi.
Cofano’s stint in Paris was followed by one in New York where she spent nine years pursuing a career in studio styling working with fashion photographers such as Richard Avedon, Patrick Demarchelier and Irving Penn.
Cofano was eventually drawn back to Paris, no doubt in part by the lure of high-end editorial work. From 1994 Cofano worked as a session stylist on publications such as Italian, British and American Vogue, ELLE, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire and Glamour.
Cofano also leant her considerable skills to the work of high-impact advertising campaigns for brands such as Nina Ricci, Armani and Yves Saint-Laurent working with celebrated photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth, Annie Leibovitz and Karl Lagerfeld.
