Collecting our notorious creatives and hurling them into the studio together once again, INSTYLE September/October’s Total Look shoot is a fiercely relevant fusion of metallic, Eighties iridescent and most importantly, the supreme blonde movement stirring fever in Australian bombshells as summer sets in.
This season, L’Oréal Professionnel pushes the limits of blondes with its new star lightening product Infinie Platine Pro-Keratine – helping technicians achieve infinitely pure lightening for supreme blonde results.
Long celebrated for embracing Australia’s rising talent and increasingly demonstrating a progressive nature that recently pushed the brands’ Parisian essence into a Sydney graveyard for Italian VOGUE-esque results, this issue L’Oréal Professionnel brought together young star Candice Faranda of Hairloom, WA and cool kid slash impending Australian Hairdresser of the Year; Damien Rinaldo. With Damien as mentor, Session Styling Team inductee and Worldskills National Champion Candice directed an elegant yet irrefutably edgy hair aesthetic projecting a Mila Jovovich vibe across a Galactic Neo-Noir set.
“We used a spotlight and in essence created an almost eighties feel. It’s very neo noir, very relevant to now with an almost robotic feel – there’s something kind of ‘android-ie’ about the concept also. Damn cool,” describes James Demitri of the Sep/Oct story titled: The Sun and the Neon Lights.
We invited Jamil Hassan of Jam Shoots into the studio to capture a taste of our Sep Oct story, for now we hope you enjoy – but the real prize starts from page 100 in INSTYLE September/October, so keep your eyes peeled … and tell all your friends!
