American Crew is presenting Masc., a night in Melbourne hosted in a barbershop that explores modern masculinity through a panel discussion headed up by leading Australian barbers and fashion visionaries.

The event will feature a panel discussion that captures this theme with food, music and art that elevates the evening further. The intimate event will host about 30 guests, including influencers and American Crew barbers, at Men’s & Co barbershop in Melbourne’s city.

The centre piece of the night is a panel discussion where American Crew barbers and fashion visionaries will have an open and honest conversation about modern masculinity. The team will discuss the fluidity of today’s masculinity, the role of barbershops in shaping masculinity, how the media influences masculinity and what the future of masculinity will look like.

The panel will be mced by American Crew Business Consultant and hairdresser Carla Bond and feature a well-known Melbourne fashion designer, as well as American Crew All Star Challenge 2021 winner and barber at Kings Domain Stephanie Pfalzgraf. Also on the panel will be 2015 global All Star winner, owner of The Meddler salon in South Yarra and decades-long All Star Gary McKenzie, owner of Melbourne barbershop brand Sweeney Todd plus American Crew member for 20 years Collin Allingham.

The event will also showcase video installations on the walls with archived magazine clips and brand footage that portray these themes, with music from a Melbourne DJ and food by Mabu Mabu, an experimental Indigenous-owned restaurant in Melbourne that uses native ingredients. Drinks will be cocktails and beers via Batch & Bottle, a new premium, pre-batched cocktail range, and barbers will be offering free trims using American Crew innovations. Attendees will also be given free grooming products to take home.

While the event remains exclusive, everyone is welcome into the discussion via live stream on the American Crew’s Instagram – find details below. Stay tuned for a wrap-up of the exciting event on Styleicons and INSTYLE.

Exploring crucial themes in the trendiest possible way, we can’t wait for Masc. by American Crew.
