Are you and your clients interested in products that contain natural ingredients? If you answered yes, you’re not alone.
According to IBISWorld, an increased range of ‘green’ and ethical beauty products are predicted to become available over the next five years, with more brands adjusting their business models to include corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Green trends are expected to stimulate change in the industry’s product portfolio to include more organic and natural ingredients that are sourced sustainably (Australian Cosmetic and Toiletry Retailing industry report, February 2017).
As socially conscious consumers, particularly millennials, become more aware of the potential consequences of their spending, the natural and organic beauty product segment is booming.
Additionally, a rising trend toward a more holistic approach to health and wellness is also feeding into the beauty industry, as consumers start to think more about what they put in and on their bodies (including on their hair).
Hair Expo Australia has introduced two new initiatives in 2018 – Proudly Natural and Proudly Australian – as visual indicators of brands that have natural ingredients in their product formulations and brands that are Australian-owned with locally made products.
Visitors can look out for Proudly Natural and Proudly Australian signage, which will be displayed on relevant stands on the show floor; as well as in the event’s online Exhibitor Directory to plan the stands they want to visit in advance.
Hair Expo Australia runs Saturday 9 to Monday 11 June 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Tickets are available at www.hairexpoaustralia.com
