It’s time for all hair, beauty and spa professionals to down tools and head on over to www.salonmelbourne.com.au – registration is now open for Victoria’s biggest event in the world of hair and beauty, Salon Melbourne.
 
April 14 & 15 will see over 200 brands showcasing more than 1,000 products at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, meaning there’s something for absolutely everyone – and what’s more, it’s free to register.

But it’s not all about brands. Salon Melbourne is also about education and the event features 20 free shows on the expo’s main stage. Get ready to learn the latest tips, techniques and trends in a series of live demonstrations, awe-inspiring shows and catwalk parades from some of the leading artists in the industry, including:
  • Rhiane Schroder and the team from The Voice and X Factor – showing you what goes in to making a superstar look like a superstar.
  • Caterina DiBiase – getting you up to date on the latest racing looks;
  • Rae Morris – recreating makeup looks from fashion week;
  • Joey Scandizzo, Australian Hairdresser of the Year –demonstrating current international hair trends;
  • Lorna Evans – providing tips on one of the season’s hottest hair techniques, braiding;
  • Jazz Pampling – sharing the secrets to perfect brow sculpting;
  • TONI&GUY – presenting the new ARTELIER collection;

As if that wasn’t enough, for those wanting a little more bang for a few more bucks, tickets can be purchased to four brand new business seminars, three beauty and three hair seminars and two hair workshops. 
 
Learn the importance of social media and sales growth with two seminars from Heather Porter and Bernadette McClelland (each $95 p/p), or how to break through the glass ceiling in an interactive make-up artist panel discussion with Rhiane Schroder, Rachael Parnell, Merton Muaremi and Becca Gilmartin ($125 p/p). 
 
A panel of local experts from all industries will also share stories from their successes in Local Heroes, including Joey Scandizzo, Victoria Fox of MISS FOX, Dr. Jean Laing of LaGaia, Tony Lattouf and Arthur Mitroulas of Hairhouse Warehouse and Kylie O’Toole ($45 p/p incl. refreshments).

On the hair side of things, Joey Scandizzo, Frank Apostolopoulos and Damien Rinaldo team up to deconstruct the classics in Breaking the Cutting Rules, while Tracey Hughes sets directional trends in Creative Fusion and Lorna Evans gives you all the length advice you’ll need in a Long Hair Look’n’Learn (each $125 p/p). Pivot Point is also holding two cutting workshops including Men’s Modern Cuts and Advanced Ladies Cutting (each $245 p/p).
 
And for those who like to party, 2013 boasts a new evening event, brought to you by L’Oréal Professionnel and featuring an exclusive show by Caterina DiBiase.
