Incomparable hair icon Sharon Blain has introduced her new venture – THE CRAFT. Ushering in a new era of hair and beauty education by partnering with education institutes and offering material that will reignite their teaching agenda, the platform brings together a coalition of global masters and hairdressing legends, including the team from the SASSOON Academy, Sharon, Vivienne Mackinder and more.
The platform will offer eclectic dynamic educator content, complemented by detailed student learner guides, thorough assessment tools, teacher support, marking guides and handbooks. It will be affordable for students and deliver a system to digitally disrupt the current education market, speaking to the learning preferences of today’s students and inspiring them within this realm.
TAFEs, Colleges and Registered Training Organisations powered by THE CRAFT can work together to educate the industry with reinvigorated life and passion, uniting to propel the industry forward. The courses have been designed and mapped to the training packages for Certificates and Diplomas and can also be offered as stand-alone Short Courses around the world. The industry training starts with Australian CERT III & IV courses.
THE CRAFT allows unparalleled access to important hair educators, offering the opportunity to learn from their vast experience, knowledge and skill. The platform hopes to address and aid in challenges currently facing the hair industry, including the need for teachers and training organisations to bear the full weight of the industry’s educational future, the requirement for more relevant, job-ready education that ignites passion in hairdressers, and the need for more interest and respect for hairdressing at large.
“The Hair Industry is my passion. It is the best decision I have ever made, and I have had an extraordinary career because of it,” said hair icon and TV personality Tabatha Coffey. “One of my biggest beliefs is that for our industry to have long term momentum, education is critical, especially for every student’s journey. Excellent education sets them up for a career grounded in success, knowledge, and ability to grow their profession and skill to the highest level.”
“What Sharon Blain and her team are creating with THE CRAFT excites me, and the benefits and learnings for students will be amazing and life-changing. I am looking forward to watching students engage and propel the industry and their careers ahead with this fresh approach,” she continued.
With its collaborations, THE CRAFT hopes to lift the value of hairdressing and attract more students and employees to the vocation. It also hopes to remove the stress and time required for curriculum preparation and administrative tasks, allowing trainers and assessors to focus their time and energy on student support. As such, it will also provide ‘train the trainer’ programs that aid hard working teachers, keeping them up to date and engaged and uniting educators throughout the industry. THE CRAFT aims to retain and motivate students to finish their education, remain in the industry and reach great hairdressing heights.
With a bold new frontier in education that will bond the hairdressing industry to its extreme benefit, welcome THE CRAFT by Sharon Blaine as a truly new education era.
