In fresh, creative hues, an array of braids, Avant Garde shapes and a definitive wet look trend, these A-listers took to the red carpet and the stage to lead Hollywood’s most playful hair trends. Here are 7 looks to see from the event.
1. Nicki Minaj
On stage as an award recipient and performer, Nicki Minaj’s bubblegum pink curls definitely drew attention.
2. Lizzo
Leading the slicked back wet hair trend and otherwise making headlines in Jean Paul Gaultier and a statement bold lip, Lizzo was on point at the VMAs.
3. Shenseea
The musical artist Shenseea also opted for the wet hair look, with styled baby hair proving the ideal additional detail.
4. Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X’s Avant Garde headpiece was a total showstopper.
5. Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne’s fiery orange lengths offered a creative take on multi-tone hair hues.
6. Chlöe
Braids and a high ponytail were a winning combination for songstress Chloe Bailey.
7. Monét X Change
Bold Minnie Mouse shaped Avant Garde hair also caught eyes from drag queen Monét X Change.
