The Australian Interior Design Awards have named their 2024 shortlist, with a record breaking 222 projects on the list. Included are interior designers for three hair salon spaces – Vie Studio for Eclat Atelier, NSW, My My My Architecture for Lumiere, ACT and Arent and Pyke for KODA, NSW.
All three spaces showcase the role of interior design in creating a crucially welcoming, warm and relaxing environment in the hair industry where client care and comfort is an essential part of business. Salon highlights including separated basin area enclaves that offer a calm oasis for clients, lighting and artwork features and high end materials stand out amidst the shortlisted salons.
Lumiere’s large luxury waiting area and quirky, arty design, KODA’s large mirrors and modern aesthetic in trending Sydney areas of Bondi and the QVB and Eclat Atelier’s marble-led, dark, moody style all shine as they inspire in award-level interior design.
The Australian Interior Design Awards celebrate interior design excellence with both national and global esteem. The awards are in their 21st year and are the product of a partnership between the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and Architecture Media’s Artichoke, using this platform to highlight Australian interior design projects spanning residential, commercial, and public sectors, from both established and emerging designers.
“As the Australian design and architecture industry continues to evolve, so too does the level of creativity and innovation within each project submission for the 2024 Australian Interior Design Awards program. The diverse shortlist of projects provides a unique narrative and perspective, reflective of the contemporary industry landscape, showcasing authenticity, character, and material innovation within each project’s respective field,” the platform shared.
The full list of awarded and commended projects will be presented at the Gala Presentation Dinner, which will be held at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney on June 14 2024.
