A victory for the hairdressing industry has taken place, with the Barbershop Express franchise system named Australian Emerging Franchisor of the Year at the National MYOB Franchise Council of Australia Excellence in Franchising Awards for 2019. Held at the Gold Coast, this award in particular honours the best new franchise system launched in the last five years.
Barbershop Express Retail Group was founded by Bianca Panozzo, who brings over 20 years experience to the industry. The business builds on a gap she saw in the market for high-quality, accessible and affordable men’s haircare services. Barbershops Expresses uses this efficient model in a chain of shopping-centre based salons. Bianca, Express Retail Group’s (ERG) COO, accepted the award alongside the brand’s CEO David Boyd.

Winning this award affirms our decision to launch a new business concept to the market place and for our operating group ERG, recognises the journey from the initial vision to a commercial reality,” David said.
