Beswick Education Services, launched by Bernadette Beswick in 2017, is taking the show on the road, with a National Cutting Tour to travel Australia this year. Bernadette will share her incomparable skills in precision cutting and technical theory, with dates spanning from July to September in Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Melbourne, Townsville and Newcastle.
“I’m excited to take my education to various cities in Australia in an effort to share the knowledge I have with as many hairdressers as possible, and to empower them to achieve their goals in the areas of precision cutting,” Bernadette said. “I will also share my insights into consultation and retail success.”
Attendees will learn adaptable haircuts, transform their cutting techniques and utilise texturising to personalise each look, all taught in a two-day course. Bernadette will also cover the fundamentals of precision cutting in relation to the head shape, while also teaching how to tailor these looks to clients and sell it to them.
Bernadette is an experienced educator, with a history of education events hosted locally and internationally in Florida, California, Taiwan and New Zealand, for iconic brands such as ghd. She is also a working salon hairdresser and still works at Bezaboo Hairdressing, keeping her skills sharp and ensuring her education is always salon relevant.
“I think it’s important for hairdressers to continue to educate themselves – and my top three tips I believe every hairdresser needs to know are, never stop learning and adding growth to what you already know,” Bernadette said. “Also, always revisit the fundamentals of solid layering and graduation, with a true understanding of the head and face shape, while knowing your texturing techniques and how to personalise all your haircuts, to deliver to clients. Lastly communication in consultation not only sells your skills but also sells retail.”
For classic and creative cutting techniques that are built in theoretical knowledge but practiced daily on the floor, Bernadette is the ideal educator to help you grow your skills in a relevant, salon-ready way.
“To me, education is the way we can create change and increase opportunity to grow our future on the path we desire, globally,” Bernadette said. “Education is unquestionably the way of ensuring the future professionalism and sustainability of the hairdressing industry.”
