As summer rapidly approaches, ideas for the perfect beach looks, trending cuts and effortless styles abound and hair tools conglomerate Dyson, who have wowed the industry in recent years with their Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer, Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer professional edition and all-new styling tool Dyson AirwapTM styler, are here to tell you what’s on trend and what your clients will adore.
The first on their list is a classic – beach waves, the ideal easy style for your clients to maintain in the humid months, and one which mimics summer’s effortless, undone vibe.
“Always try to use a sea salt spray or mouse to keep that memory in the hair, and if your client loves swimming at the beach embrace that salt water as your prep product,” shared Dyson educator Ludmilla Hlinovsky. “When using the Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer you can use the round brush blow dry technique with a medium round brush, but start the bend from the ear down. Once finished, spritz the ends with water spray and let them dry naturally, this will give you that worn in look.”
“Alternatively you can use Dyson’s new Dyon AirwrapTM styler, holding the tool vertically and wrapping the hair around the barrel to set, with the size of the barrel depending on how strong you want the beach wave to be,” she continued.
Another top trend for Summer 2018 is the curtain fringe, which allows your clients to grow out their winter fringe while still trending.
“My tip would be to texturise the ends to create a soft broken line and either use a large round brush and Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer to create that soft bend, or use the Dyson AirwrapTM styler with the 40mm barrel classically, but only on the fringe, to complete the look.”
Finally, the brand advocates for the textured bob with a top knot, the ultimate cool girl look that keeps the hair out of your clients’ faces in the warmer seasons, but also provides the picture of a care free summer.
“Firstly use a mouse or sea salt spray to prep damp hair and then use the Dyson AirwrapTM styler beach wave technique, but only using the 40 mm barrel, to create a worn in wave,” Ludmilla said. “Taking a rectangular section from centre of each eyebrow to where the parting of the hair would end, secure the hair with an elastic and twist the hair around the elastic to then secure with a bobby pin. Then lightly fan out the top knot and finish with a dry shampoo or dust for a perfectly disheveled look.”
Have your clients leave your salon in peak summer style – and thank Dyson for the intel and tools to make it all possible.
