Your 2019 runway inspiration has come early, with ghd, lead stylist Jimmy Paul and mega-brand Moschino behind the looks. The creative Avant Garde looks aren’t exactly going to be salon favourites, but are sure to get the editorial and creative juices flowing.
“For this show we envisioned different looks, combining the inspiration from the masterpieces of Fellini with natural and modern looks” Jimmy said. “With wigs varying in colours from bold and intense to natural nuances, we wanted to play on contrasts of soft waves, various upstyles, taking reference from Satyricon, 8½ and La Dolce Vita. The opulent and eccentric looks mixed with garments and textiles on the runway are complemented by the extravagant hair looks of the models transforming them in modern muses.”
The looks spoke to Jimmy’s risk-taking aesthetic and the brand’s eccentricity, with the ghd platinum+ acting as the ideal tool to create the looks.
“ghd platinum+ was the best style ally, able to craft both smooth, straight hair and waves of different effect and dimensions also on the wigs,” Jimmy confirmed.
The ghd curve soft curl tong was also instrumental in creating soft, irregular and voluminous waves to be merged with wigs, varying textures and intricate braiding.
This is the exact kind of big hair energy we want to be bringing into 2019.
