ghd have put their hand up as a new sponsor for the $25,000 Style Stakes competition at the Caulfield Cup, styling hair for professionally photographed looks at the event. The traditional fashion competition has received its own makeover, giving entrants the chance to have their hair styled by the illustrious brand before entering the iconic competition. ghd have represented the competition at Caulfield Cup race days throughout October, with more to come, and a grand final event, later in the month.
Fashion forward racegoers have had and will continue to have the opportunity to have their hair re-curled, smoothed or volumised by ghd Brand Warriors Uros Mikic and Brodie-Lee Stubbins before entering the photographic contest. Additionally, Marie Uva will both make an appearance on the styling team and be one of the competition final’s prestigious judges.
Georgio Armani provides the beauty contingent for entrants attempting to win a part of the prize pool, values at over $25,000.
The ghd Style Stakes Spectacle Stage is located alongside the David Jones Fashion Stable on the front lawn, and right in the centre of the action of each race day. The competition houses custom-made studios, with pampering from the hair and beauty teams and then the professional photo shoot. Entrants choose their favourite 3 photos to enter the competition.
“Millinery is obviously a big part of the race day look, but this year we expect to see hair take the limelight, with silky scarves, ribbons and headbands aiming to accentuate the look, but not overpower it,” Marie said. “Uros and Brodie-Lee will be on hand in the ghd Style Stakes space to help entrants enhance their race day look before entering the competition. Their job will be to just add a little pizazz to your existing glam.”
The competition is free for racegoers, with categories ranging from men to women and groups, so if racegoers don’t win enticing prizes such as ghd product, travel vouchers and shopping vouchers, at least it’s an opportunity to be pampered.
We are well and truly off to the races.
