“It’s such an honour to be a long-term partner of such an important event on Australia’s fashion calendar and each year MFW gets bigger and better and really brings Melbourne and its fashion culture to life,” Kevin said. “There’s an undeniable buzz around Melbourne during MFW. The week creates a great opportunity to celebrate new season fashion, push the boundaries on new hair trends while also shining the spotlight on this incredible city.”

MFW Adut Akech as their official ambassador, fresh from the international runways of Chanel, Versace and Fendi, to add more global star power to the runway.

‘I remember working with Adut three years ago when she was walking in every show for MFW, she has found phenomenal success overseas and it is so exciting to have her back in Melbourne as the face of Melbourne Fashion Week, we are so excited to be working with her again’ Kevin shared.

Kevin will also be included in the Fashion Forum, taking place as part of the event on September 2. On the panel, he will discuss the future of fashion as it pertains to sustainability and environmental awareness. This builds on the brand’s initiative to become the first brand to use 100 per cent ocean Waste Plastic in all packaging, which will come into effect this year and clear the ocean of over 360 tons of plastic annually.

“This change is for the future of our environment and for us as a brand to be truly sustainable and to clean up our oceans and save our planet and our industry for future generations,” Kevin said. “I am honoured to have the opportunity to share my mission with the M/FW audience.”

Australia’s fashion capital is about to welcome the global fashion spotlight once again for this highly anticipated event – it wouldn’t be the same without Kevin Murphy and his team on board.
