Styling legend Lorna Evans has teamed up with renowned photographers Anniss+Barton for an exclusive workshop at Hair Festival 2024. Students will learn practically to master their editorial craft, culminating in each attendee’s own photoshoot. This unique workshop offers a rare opportunity to see your work featured in INSTYLE magazine and have it showcased at the Hair Festival, as a tantalising opportunity to enter the illustrious world of professional hair styling photography.
The workshop is ideal for various experience levels, from newer session artists looking to create their first collection or more experienced editorial artists wanting to expand their portfolio. Attendees will gain personalised mentorship from Lorna Evans and Kurt Anniss and Nathan Barton to navigate a professional photoshoot from concept to execution.
The event timeline will start with pre-workshop Zoom trainings that connect the group and cover storyboard and creative direction, creative tips, a group review of individual looks, individual sessions with Lorna to refine the progress so far and model and stylist introductions, taking place from April to June. The session itself will take place on Monday July 1 from 10am to 4pm, in a grand shoot day at the Sydney Convention Centre.
Participants should have at least medium-level styling skills, including proficiency in blow-drying and setting, and require a personal styling kit, while Lorna will also offer tools to be purchased at a discounted rate of 20 per cent off. A professional model is provided, as well as professional fashion styling. Students will gain one professionally retouched image that’s printed and mounted, and also receive follow up group and individual mentoring sessions after the shoot.
