Love Your Hairdresser Week is returning from November 13 to 19, celebrating its fourth year of shining a light on hairdressing heroes that help their clients and make their communities a better place. The concept and campaign originated during the pandemic, to highlight the impact of hair services on emotional wellbeing and so much more.
“A trip to the salon becomes an afternoon of respite for many people that helps to promote self-esteem and confidence. Hairdressers and barbers do more than just cut and colour hair, they nurture a sense of personal wellbeing,” shared Sandy Chong, CEO of the Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC).
The initiative once again sees theAustralian Hairdressing Council team up with American Express’ Shop Small campaign in service of the week. Salon communities can take the opportunity to show appreciation, from clients to hairdressers, business owners to staff, among colleagues and from salons to clients who help businesses to thrive. Special promotions, bonuses, gestures and collaborations are encouraged to facilitate this celebration. The week is created to strengthen the bonds between clients, professionals, and businesses in the hairdressing industry and highlight the positive impact of hairdressing.
“Many salons are run by small business owners. American Express’ Shop Small initiative incentivises consumers to spend with local, small businesses – which is exactly what hairdressers and barbers need. ‘Love Your Hairdresser Week’ is celebrating the hairdressing and barbering community, their contribution to wellbeing and value of small business,” Sandy said.
The Australian Hairdressing Council encourages the hairdressing community to spread the word and for clients show their favourite hairdressers and barbers just how much they appreciate them through purchasing services and products, giving reviews and publicising salons on social media and beyond. The AHC is providing resources and promotional materials to elevate the event.
Happy Love Your Hairdresser Week to all!
