Last week, guests were treated to a delicious three course lunch at Chiswick, Woollahra, to celebrate the release of Olpalex No.7 Bonding Oil. Before the mains were served, Edwards & Co styling director Matt Jones demonstrated firsthand the benefits of Olaplex’s latest launch with an interactive styling session, showcasing the power of this new game-changing tool from the extraordinary Olaplex stable.
Matt tended to the tresses of influences Margot Moore (@margotmoore) and Shahrzad Kahrobai (@TheSpotBeauty) to showcase how versatile the new styling oil was. On Margot, Matt created lush, voluminous photoshoot ready waves that Edwards & Co is known for, while on Shahrzad, he created what he called “a rich girl, New York soft vibe” on her long brunette hair.
As he styled each model’s hair, he spoke about the benefits of the oil. “It is a bonding oil which contains the same ingredients that all of the other Olaplex products contain,” he said. “It is a heat resistant product that protects up to 230 degrees which is super exciting, because you can put it in when the hair is wet and blow dry it all the way through to the dry stages.”
Matt also emphasised how handy the small bottle was for travel, calling it “the perfect handbag-sized product” and, as an added bonus, it’s imbued with a delicious smell to appeal to all the senses.
When quizzed on exactly how much product to use, Matt said the best method was “hold it upside down and tap it a little until it comes out – you don’t even need a five cent piece worth, as it’s really concentrated.”
The Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil joins the stellar line up of produce now being used and stocked on salon shelves including the No. 6 Bond Smoother, No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 2 Bond Perfector and the No.1 Bond Multiplier. Olaplex was launched in 2014 and is distributed by Haircare Australia.
