O&M offered their styling talents for the Cartier High-Jewellery gala at the Sydney Opera House on February 18, with John Pulitano, O&M ambassador and owner of Headcase Hair, taking the reins as Hair Director. The team created three looks for ten female models and styled two male models, all with an understated editorial style for the luxury jewellery house.

The exclusive event catered to 202 VIP clients from across Australia, featuring Cartier High Jewellery pieces styled by Jess Pecoraro in a decadent dinner that coincided with the inter-regional High Jewellery exhibition in Sydney. The gala was the pinnacle of the High Jewellery event series in Australia, including a grand arrival, fine dining experience and the interactive runway show with featured performances by a Sydney based string quartet. The hair looks spoke to this elegance.

“Our vision for the hair was to enhance the appearance of the jewels with sleek, sophisticated, and minimal looks that showcase the décolletage and ears,” John said. “The hair is split into three different looks; the first look is a deep side part with a dewy and polished finish, the second look focuses on enhancing the definition of the curly-haired models, and the third look is a sleek middle part low ponytail.”

Get the look – side part.
- Apply a generous amount of Atonic Thickening Spritz to the hair. Use a soft bristle brush to start directional blow-drying. Create a deep side part while keeping the sides and hair very flat.
- Apply Rootalicious Root Lift Mousse from the nape, working up, excluding the top sections of the hair.
- Comb the hair into shape and secure with Japanese clips to create a light S-wave at the back.
- Dry the back sections and finish with Frizzy Logic Serum.
Get the look – middle part ponytail:
- Begin by applying Atonic Thickening Spritz liberally to the roots. Then, use a flat brush for directional blow-drying.
- Prepare the hair for a ponytail by brushing and keeping it very flat. Take a 1 and 1/2-inch section and apply Pomade Styling Tub with your hands through the entire root area, working your way up.
- Once the Pomade is distributed throughout the hair, brush it down the hair shaft to cover the strands that will be gathered into the ponytail.
- Tie and secure the hair in a ponytail and finish with Frizzy Logic Serum.
