Pivot Point has announced its new general manager and you can welcome Jane Barrett to the role as of May 28. Jane boasts 20 years of experience in hairdressing education, with industry and platform work part of her everyday roles.
Jane also has ten years teaching experience in TAFE and the private sector, and has postgraduate qualifications in Vocational Education. She has been awarded an International Fellowship and travelled to the United States to train under and assist multiple-time NAHA winner, Ruth Roche. Jane also has management experience, having had the role of education manager at Hair and Beauty at Canberra Institute of Technology for four years, where she was awarded the CIT Chief Executive’s Award for her development of the hairdressing and beauty program areas. Her most recent role was as Head of Education for Beauty EDU, where she oversaw curriculum development and teaching operations, including the transition from SIB to SHB training package. She always has an important presence at international events such as Hair Expo, Salon International and Cosmoprof North America.
“I am delighted that Jane will be taking a senior role in guiding Pivot Point through a transition point in the hairdressing education industry,” said Rob Aubin CEO Pivot Point Australia and New Zealand. “After nearly 50 years in Australia, we have seen the industry go through many ups and downs, but I firmly believe that Jane will add considerable value to our TAFE and Private RTO customers as well as in planning and executing our strategy for the next ten years and beyond.”
“I’m very excited to be taking on this role because I have worked with the Pivot Point system over many years, both as a teacher and as a manager, and I have seen first-hand how its methodology and approach gives teachers the tools to deliver consistently, and how it creates confident, capable stylists who understand not just the how, but the why,” Jane added.
“I’m particularly excited to be coming on board at this time because of the new products and programs in the pipeline, which truly embrace digital technology, and reflect the ethos of our industry now. I’m looking forward to leading their introduction to Australia, and creating new ways to build on Pivot Point’s heritage as a responsive partner to our industry’s training providers,” she continued.
