Steph Meyer is extending the mindset of her Steph Meyer & Co salon brand with a retreat in July titled INSPIRE. The retreat will inspire the salon team over three nights on the Mornington Peninsula, taking from the salon’s unique approach and becoming a lesson in salon teamwork and motivation.
Steph Meyer & Co is an exclusive, boutique salon with two Melbourne spaces, focused on providing a stress free environment for both salon team members and clients, as anchored by an original business model that only caters to clients one-on-one. This services clients with a relaxing vibe, with mindfulness, mental health, balance and creating a safe work environment as priorities in the hope of avoiding anxiety and burn out for hairdressers.

“Our one-on-one concept have been a game changer for our salon,” Steph said. “It really has worked in reducing workplace anxiety and stressors that can be associated with working in a really busy salon environment. It’s also meant we have attracted a team that suits our salon’s vision and mission and who are truly committed to delivering what they do best in a relaxed, high-end environment. Every day we set out to continue to create a salon space that is community-oriented, safe and a mindful environment – essentially where everyone is happy and loves what they do.”

This sense of mindfulness and wellness within the salon business will extend to the INSPIRE retreat, which aims to facilitate teamwork and community, while also joining with another salon team to foster this mindset more broadly. Walks and Pilate sessions will ensure reflection and mindfulness are imperative to the retreat.
The weekend will offer tailored, relevant education, with leading educators such as Bernadette Beswick, Nicole Healy, Andrea De Deudg and Lyndall Vile teaching hands-on cutting for long hair layers, bobs and fringes, social media and content, styling mentorship and blondes, balayage, formulas and finishes from Lyndall’s experience with Schwarzkopf.
“I’d love for everyone to leave feeling inspired, revived and motivated. It’s something I’d love to do as an annual thing and each year have different people attend to teach and share,” Steph said.
