We blinked and it was somehow April, and not January like we could have sworn it was. Yes, over three months of 2018 have gone by and the first quarter of the year has been punctuated by fun, headline-making and daring hair colour transformations by celebrities, sure to inspire you and your clients.
We’ve trawled through the social media accounts, new stories and red carpets over the last hundred or so days and picked out some of our favourite A-list hair colour transformations. Which new looks are you favourites?
1. Leighton Meester
A very recent addition to the drastic hair change scene, the famous brunette is now a platinum blonde. Leighton is actually a natural blonde, but has been a brunette since her break out role as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, so the new aesthetic is a definite change for the star and her fans.
2. Kim Kardashian
Kim has experimented with a fair few hair looks already in 2018 (with her dark roots consistently a prominent feature), but her turn to pink was especially internet-breaking, no matter how temporary.
3. Zayn Malik
Break-ups are the ideal time to opt for a hair change, and Zayn’s split with Gigi Hadid was naturally followed up by a turn from dark to blonde. Zayn is a constant celebrity reminder that guys can have fun in the salon chair too.
4. Selena Gomez
Speaking of turbulent romantic lives, Selena Gomez’s 2018 has been defined by both her on-off relationship with the Biebs, and this trendy turn to blonde. We’re calling the latter as the more successful choice of the two.
5. Kris Jenner
It’s not just her daughters who can play around with colour, the Momager also set social media alight by trading her trademark dark pixie cut in for its platinum iteration. Although she’s now back to her regular darker hair look, her blonde New Year’s post received over a million likes on Instagram, plus the look was a Keeping Up With The Kardashians feature and a component of her all blonde campaign with Kim and her mother for Kim’s latest range of concealers.
6. Brittany Snow
Recently renowned with her iconic auburn locks, Brittany joined the blonde train with so many other Hollywood A-listers, complementing the colour with a cute bob. Even as we come out of the Northern Hemisphere’s winter, blonde is still hot as ever.
7. Julianne Hough
Julianne provided the opposite interpretation, changing her trademark blonde to a fiery red head look we think is totally wearable for your clients.
8. Solange Knowles
Solange loves to experiment with her hair in looks that constantly inspire us – this platinum blonde afro is just the latest in her long line of winning hair looks, and a fantastic encapsulation of top-tier colour and style combined.
