We’re hardly in January and major hair trend decisions are already being made by the internet, as decided by major publications such as Refinery29, InStyle and marie claire. Copper hair is apparently the go-to hair colour trend of early 2019, described by Refinery29 as a “high-drama, bright-and-glossy, surprisingly flattering shade of the burnished” hue, which cuts through the dreary winter currently being experienced by the Northern Hemisphere.
The publication quoted celebrity hairdresser George Papanikolas as saying that red tones are starting to dominate hair trends, as led by Hollywood’s A-listers. Kate Bosworth is a major leader in this trend, while Amanda Stenberg infused copper tones into her darker hair as a different take on the trend, as did Anne Hathaway. Lola Kirke, Daisy Ridley and Zoey Deutsch (working with famous colourist Tracey Cunningham) also rock the hue, while Emma Stone is often it’s main It Girl.
Between strawberry blonde and subtle copper tones popping up on social media, the hue has definitely hit 2019, with cool-toned, multi-dimensional iterations turning red carpets certifiably copper, enhancing eye colours and offering the skin a greater sense of glow.
Think of it as this year’s bronde and start recommending it to your trend-hungry clients, like, yesterday.
