Almost 3000 hairdressers from around the world gathered in Vienna, Austria to take part in the inimitable 2019 iteration of Goldwell’s Global Zoom, taking place on September 29 and 30. The gala show announced this year’s international winners and premiered INTREPID, Goldwell’s 2020 couture collection.
Another important part of the proceedings was education, as the brand presented academy sessions across every facet of hair. As opened by John Moroney (VP Global Creative & Communication), the sessions covered Elumen colour from the Goldwell Elumenators (Jacky Tan from Singapore, Kylie Bussing from USA, Luca Lauko from Czech and Salome Dewet from South Africa) and colour and style trends as delivered by the brand’s top international artists. The brand also presented a KMS style colour presentation, conducted by Daniel Bruns, KMS Global Style Council member to showcase the latest urban looks, while the Goldwell Master Stylist Team, who presented dynamic and creative shape and colour concepts to guests based on the principles of the Master Stylist Program. On Monday, a series of artists sessions from inspiring global leaders such as M&P, icono, Hare & Bone and Mario Kranki, brought style to Vienna via various international locales.
Later on, the Color Zoom challenge saw international hairdressers compete in categories of Partner, Creative and New Talent, as they created looks that showcased their interpretation of the current Goldwell Color Zoom Collection titled REMIX. 91 finalists from 38 countries competed live. Congratulations to J Lim from Singapore, Irakli Sardalishvili from Russia and Yuujin Ho from Singapore, winners in the new talent, creative and partner categories respectively. Richard Munslow from United Kingdom (Partner category) won the Stylists’ Favorite Award, together with Courtney Cairns from United Kingdom (New Talent category) and Lauren Roma Hanlon from United Kingdom (Creative category), as decided by online fans.
The gala show unveiled INTREPID to the world, showcasing a bold, daring aesthetic consisting of pure lines, round shapes, disconnections and gender neutral hues.
“Also this year we had two days full of creativity, inspiration and great artist sessions. Our three new gold winners have shown outstanding hairdressing skills,” said John Maroney. “We are looking forward to next year and many exciting news in 2020: We will inspire our stylists with a new event, a new challenge and a new Goldwell Couture Collection in a new city.
