Local hairdressing legend Uros Mikic has been given an important new appointment, being named as a creative director for iconic brand Wella Professionals. The hairdresser, who owns Kinky Curly Straight salon in Adelaide, has 20 years of global hairdressing experience (he has travelled and educated around Europe, New Zealand and the UK and settled in Australia in 2010) and has a host of hairdressing awards to his name. His salon, established in 2012, and salon team are also decorated with awards, earning him the ideal resume to join this premier brand.
“I’m honoured and excited to join the Wella family as a creative director,” Uros said. “I look forward to collaborating with the brand’s talented group of creative artists, and to be able to share my knowledge with their salons. As one of the biggest and most respected hair brands, I have always admired Wella Professionals, and I feel privileged our two brands will share a future together.”
Uros and his wife/business partner Mojca Bizjac-Mikic lead an impressive salon team, and Uros has earned awards for Hair Expo and the AHFAs Men’s Hairdresser of the Year (he currently holds both titles), as well as annual finalist nominations for Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year since 2016, winning this year’s AHFAs Hair Fashion Video of the Year and, for Kinky Curly Straight, Hair Expo Salon of the Year, among many other accolades.
Uros is an acclaimed cutter, colourist and session stylist, with a passion for education and hair artistry. His work has been published globally and he continues to educate internationally, most recently in New York, London and Moscow. Now his partnership with Wella Professionals will ensure his career continues to develop at a rapid rate.
