View the 2019 Hair Expo SA/TAS Hairdresser of the Year Collection

Our tribute to the talented state winners in the recent Hair Expo Awards rolls on, and today’s instalment is a joyous and whimsical offering from SA/TAS Hairdresser of the Year winner Sam James of SJ Establishment. The dreamy group of images also won the epic title of Editor’s Choice – a worthy winner, and below you can see why!

The collection is set against a golden beige backdrop, with creamy blondes, a fiery auburn hero hue, a pale and trending pink look and warm brunettes making up the overall palette of the collection, as complemented by black and nude styling with flashes of pink.

The images infuse pom pom accessories, dual toned hair pieces, braided ribbons and subtle gold hair clips to add ornamentation to the looks, while the styles themselves extend from long, luscious locks to a wild, curly up style. Hero looks include the auburn bob with its braided features, a tousled pixie cut with cascading soft pieces falling beneath it and blonde dreadlocks amplified with ribbon for added difference.

The colouring and aesthetic unifies the entire collection, with wearable hues, editorially audacious cuts and styles and a pink jacket we officially want. Check out the two-time winning images.
