The people have spoken and the People’s Choice Photographic Collection of the Year at the 2023 Australian Hair Industry Awards (Creative) 2023 was chosen from all finalist collections as Bill Tsiknaris of Tsiknaris Hair, for his entry titled Cyborg Couture.
The collection was entered under the Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year category, with a futuristic theme that incorporated hair sculptures and unique materials, as well as electronic elements in the beauty, fashion, backdrop and overall aesthetic.
This sci-fi, robotic style clearly caught the eyes of voters, who viewed all the collections in the halls of Hair Festival at Carriageworks all long weekend to choose the winner.
As well as creating the artistic hair looks, Bill was also the collection’s photographer and fashion stylist, with makeup by Brooke Stanley. The salon had a stellar night, with Shae Tsiknaris also winning for Master Cutter of the Year. Bill together with Brodie Tsiknaris had also been nominated for the title of Australian Hairdresser of the Year as a duo, while Bill, Brodie and Shae were each individually nominated for QLD Hairdresser of the Year, Chris Tsiknaris was nominated as Colour Expert of the Year and the whole team was a finalist as Creative Team of the Year.
