Mother and daughter duo Laura and Ria Kulik of The HairBank, Urmston, Manchester, took home the title of North Western Hairdresser of the Year at the 2023 British Hairdressing Awards, for a collection titled Tailored.
“The Tailored collection combines creativity, fashion and a touch of Chanel,” the duo shared, about a black and white collection that shines in its intriguing shapes, bold cuts and patterned hues. The team included assistants Natasha Quigley, Stacey Parker, Claire Ball, Stevie Taylor, makeup by Morgan Defre and photography by Narita Savoor, assisted by Ernie.
“We’ve waited so long and worked so hard to win an award and last year our dream came true when we won this title for the first time,” the duo shared. “We can’t believe we’ve won again this year! It takes a lot of hard work and motivation, and we just really support each other and believe in one another. This is the pinnacle of a hairdresser’s career. A huge congratulations to all the winners.”
The category welcomed entrants from five English region, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire, with the pair cementing the win amongst difficult competition.
