Welcome your new favourite collection, otherwise known as Mimic by Rachel Vitullo of Joey Scandizzo Salon, AKA the Creative Colourist of the Year winner for last weekend’s Australian Hair Fashion Awards 2019.
The playful collection works with colour in a variety of fun ways, merging bold hair techniques with their stylistic fashion counterparts. Example include black and white monochromatic polka dots, race strip rainbow hues, multi-dimensional tones and other purposeful patterns. Beauty looks also join the overall connective looks, injecting a bright red lip to match hair and jacket, or bright blue eye makeup as a break from a fully monochromatic look. Another hero look imitates racing stripes in every creative choice, from hair, to fashion an beauty. In every instance, each look’s style, hair and beauty decisions are distinct from one another, unified by their internal connectivity. Long hair and short bobs provide the wearable hairstyles, emboldened by creative colour in diverse ways.
The look was created by Rachel, with photography by the legendary Andrew O’Toole, makeup by Bec Shannon and styling by Elaine Marshall. It’s no wonder the collection took home the gong for creative colour, with a unique and inspired concept executed to perfection.
