Adelaide’s Sam James from SJ Establishment was recently nominated as Australian Hairdresser of the Year at the Australian Hair Industry Awards (Creative) for her collection, titled INTRINSIC.
“This was inspired by Christopher Bailey’s Last Show as Creative Director at Burberry,” Sam said on social media about the eclectic looks. “With a unique lighting installation, they created rainbow streams of light as if through a stain-glassed window or prism contrasting against a pitch-black runway supporting the bold light, the perfect backdrop. A journey of contrast – prism like lighting highlighting dramatic colour and shape with the ultimate shadowy backdrop.”
This dark backdrop and black fashion styling anchors vivid rainbow hair, bright beauty details, and evocative hair styling that shows these colours at their best.
The collection utilised Matrix, Yovanka Loria hair extensions and EVY PROFESSIONAL tools, with photographer Haley Renee, makeup artist Morgan Wickham and stylist Chantelle Delaverde compromising the full artistic team.
