David Corbett, the 2023 British Hairdressing Awards winner for Scottish Hairdresser of the Year, showcased his Scottish roots in his winning collection, titled Highland Fling. With Scottish style tartan and plaid across the fashion styling and hair colour, presented in vivid hues, this was tartan-inspired hair artistry at its most creative.
“I was inspired by the designer Vivienne Westwood and her love of tartan which features so heavily across all her designs,” David shared.
Uniquely shaped cuts, wild textures and editorial takes on the modern bob also define the hair looks in their versatile rainbow hues. Heavy accessorising, bold eye make-up and loud, clashing fashion patterns, which complement each shot’s coloured hair, comprised the rest of the collection.
Makeup by Maddie Austin, styling by Clare Frith and photography by Michael Young joined David in bringing the collection together.
