An all-new luxe haircare and styling range from England has made its way to Australia, under the domain of Rogue Beauty, who you may know as the Aussie brains behind Oribe, R+Co, V76 by Vaughn, Pulp Riot and more. Its ready to take your salons and retail shelves by storm, with relevant styling tools and care products based on everyone’s favourite soothing property – tea!
The range was created by iconic British hairdressering duo Paul Windle and Neil Moodie, who boast 30 years of experience in the industry, work with high profile celebrities and own an award-winning salon in Convent Garden. The products are built from their passion for client care, fashion and editorial hair heritage and professional haircare, spurring a quality 22-piece range. The duo have used this salon experience and knowledge to experiment with tools, ideas and products for decades, and this range acts as the culmination of that.
The duo worked with specialised chemists and formulators in the UK, and in a very British manner, have imbued their products with high-quality teas, known for their antioxidant properties to protect hair and boost radiance and shine. The products are also eco-friendly, contain no propylene glycol or parabens and are highly professional and salon-grade, having passed the pair’s illustrious tests in salon and on set.
The products are made in the UK, but formulated with the teas that are cultivated by renowned specialists in their own ecologically healthy plantations around the globe. Anyone who’s sat down to a necessary cup of tea after a long day knows how nourishing this can be for the soul – transport that mentality to the hair with these products.
The brand’s hero treatment shampoos repair, protect and strengthen the hair at once, with naturally-derived sugar beet extract and wheat micro-protein for a healthy scalp and optimal hair condition.
Products in the range include the tailored treatment shampoos that headline the range, such as the Nourishing Treatment Shampoo, which aids dry and colour treated hair with rooibos tea and argan oil and the Fortifying Treatment Shampoo, for volume and thickness and with antioxidants that promote hair growth. Additionally the Healthy Head (And Hair) Treatment Shampoo, is or soothing and micro-circulation built with yerba mate tea, green coffee, eucalyptus and sage natural oils. The Everyday Shampoo offers gentle cleansing with green tea as the ideal daily tool.
These products’ partner conditioners, the Nourishing Conditioner and Fortifying Conditioner and the Healthy Head (and Hair) Conditioner, use green tea, cocoa butter, rooibos tea and other ingredients between the two products to detangle, repair, strengthen and promote fullness in hair, aided by keratin technology.
Other care products include the Essential Oils Elixir, a pre-shampoo treatment with apricot, coconut, camellia and oat oils as a natural pathway to shine, the Intense Treatment Masque, which repairs damaged hair with natural components and the Invisible Day and Night Cream, with monoi oil, sugar beet and aloe vera to bring skincare concepts to hair and inject it with some vital moisture.
In styling, Paul and Neil used their on set and backstage experience to offer must-have tools in a varied and necessary range that will become your new best friend in salon, at shoots and in the trenches of fashion weeks.
In the category of sprays, a Foundation Spray, Oceanic Spray and Fortifying Spray each provide their unique capabilities, preparing hair, texturising hair and volumising hair, respectively. All add shine, moisture, strength and nourishment to hair, with silk protein and honey acting as hero ingredients.
Other unique products include the Curl Enhancer, to define and seprate curls for effortless bounce, Cream Sheen for finishing, with light oils delicately suspended in a cream for definition, and the Shine and Smoothing Oil, which blends apricot, camellia and argan natural oils for smoothing and nourishment.
For creams, the range boasts a Texture Cream that offers gritty texture and definition, and a Thickening Cream, for volume, lift and ideal heat styling. The Matte Paste uses a unique blend of waxing for a natural style in short hair looks, imbued with structure.
Windle and Moodie additionally offer styling sprays, such as the Light Satin Hairspray, which acts as a lightweight tool to use before heat styling for a sleek finish and the Matte Texture Spray, an editorial must-have that creates instant body and texture, with sealed in moisture. The Sculpture Hairspray keeps style in place for secure upstyling, also packing heat protection and humidity resistance.
A hero product is the Volcanic Ash Wax, inspired by Paul’s experience in Iceland in 2010 where a volcano erupted and fascinated him with its evolution in texture and ash. This product recreates that texture, made for short, choppy haircuts, and containing actual volcanic ash a strong, gritty finish.
With unique styling products inspired by the styling duo’s extensive experience on set and backstage, and care products made to emulate that feeling of spiritual care when you inhale that first important sip of hot tea after a long day, with actual tea properties, Windle and Moodie is a welcome addition to our local haircare and styling landscape. Drink it in.
