Hair Expo’s 2019 edition is just around the corner, and hair professionals are gearing up for three incredible days of discovery and inspiration in hair! Alongside a packed agenda of world-class education and the latest innovations from cult favourite brands, visitors can also look forward to the 2019 GenNext event on Sunday 9 June.
A highlight of Hair Expo, the GenNext event features stage productions and performances that stretch the boundaries of creativity in hair. Designed to provide a platform for the next generation of up and coming talent in the industry, this year’s event will see eight teams take to the stage, as well as a main act from industry legends Robert Cromeans and Angus Mitchell, representing Paul Mitchell.
The eight teams and the sessions they will present at GenNext 2019 are:
- UK FAME TEAM – Sign of the Times
- Lorna Evans with Gippsland’s local TAFE – Boudoir Edwardian with a sprinkle of Art Deco
- Royals Hair – The Originals
- Ella&Jade – Abyss
- Head Over Heels – Equal
- Bond Hair Religion – Dazed
- Box Hill Institute and Sustainable Salons, directed by Shaun McGrath – The Art of Waste
- Vivo Emerging Talent Artistic Team – Mood
Back by popular demand, the UK FAME TEAM are returning to GenNext to bring their unique flair for creativity.
“The team’s performance will provide a unique take on cultural awareness and social progression that exhibits everything they stand for as a new breed of hairdresser,” says Nick Irwin, UK FAME TEAM mentor.
Brisbane based team Ella&Jade hopes to motivate and inspire younger audiences through their GenNext performance.
“We’ve been finalists for Hair Expo’s Salon Team of the Year for three years running, which has lead us to this amazing opportunity to showcase our work on the GenNext stage. It just goes to show that if you work hard and keep chasing your dreams you can inspire and motivate the industry from so many platforms all over the world,” says Ella&Jade team member, Alannah Read.
Robert Cromeans and Angus Mitchell’s highly anticipated finale performance will unleash the pair’s creative genius in a show stopping display of refined technical skill and hairdressing wizardry, celebrating global trends for current and future hair fashion.
Robert Cromeans says visitors should look forward to an “electric and inspiring” performance that will keep them on their toes.
The GenNext event takes place from 7:30pm on Sunday 9 June at ICC Sydney. Visit www.hairexpoaustralia.com to purchase tickets.
